Stream habitat restoration is increasingly common in New Zealand particularly in urban environments. The Department of Conservation recently engaged Ecological Solutions to identify and present methods and tools available for enhancing fish habitat in New Zealand rivers using lessons learnt from restoration projects in New Zealand and internationally. The output of this project was a series of quick reference case studies aimed at assisting those undertaking freshwater fish habitat restoration.

- Desktop literature search to source international examples
- Development of practical guidance toolbox of methods to restore native fish riverine habitat
