Speedies Road Hydro operate a small hydro power station in the King Country and sought Ecological Solutions help to assess the effects of a proposed reduction in minimum flow. This assessment was undertaken in a physically challenging environment within the Tawarau River gorge and involved fish and invertebrate surveys as well as an instream habitat survey and the application of the Instream Flow Incremental Method (IFIM). The assessment results were presented as expert evidence to a Waikato Regional Council resource consent hearing.
